Abstract :
Baroreceptor reflex sensitivity index (BRSI) derived from phase IV of the Valsalva manoeuvre is used to evaluate heart functioning in stroke survivors. Ten subjects (five normal controls and five stroke survivors) are analyzed and compared. The comparison shows that stroke patients have a lower BRSI value than normal subjects and the values fall into the range characterized as clinically depressed
