Abstract
Here we describe an effective technical route for the production of elastic porous tissue engineering scaffolds from citric acid-based polyester elastomers. We demonstrate that the chemical composition, scaffold morphology, mechanical integrity and porosity of the produced scaffolds are strongly affected by variation of the initial molar ratio of monomers in synthesis reaction. This scaffold exhibits versatility in terms of important parameters for tissue engineering applications in a highly controllable manner.
