Abstract :
This paper proposes the use of triangular shaped E-plane metal baffle loading as an alternative to planar E- and H-plane metal baffles loading to improve the performance of the normal smooth wall pyramidal horn. The simulated results show that the proposed approach results in lower cross-polarization level, better matching over a wider bandwidth and higher average gain compared to the planar baffles loaded horn. This horn may find wide applications in low cost high-performance systems.
