Abstract
In this paper, we devise a near-optimal fast multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) detector. Our proposed approach is a parallel architecture of QRD in tandem with Markov-chain Monte-Carlo (MCMC) processing, referred to as hybrid parallel QRD-MCMC (HPQRD-MCMC). Simulation results show that for a 4 × 4 MIMO system, HPQRD-MCMC can reduce the detection delay by 45%, compared with some existing MCMC detectors, and the reduction is more for higher dimensional systems, without compromising the error probability performance. With stringent latency requirements, the proposed detector outperforms significantly existing MCMC detectors.
