Abstract :
A comparison of time-domain and harmonic balance steady-state analyses for coupled device and circuit simulation is presented. The algorithms are evaluated in one framework. Both methods are efficient for periodic forced circuits. The harmonic balance method was found to be better for multi-tone circuits while for autonomous circuits the time-domain shooting method is more efficient and reliable.
