Abstract
A significant part of the introduction of the More Electric Aircraft is the development of cost effective insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) modules, which demonstrate high power density, are reliable under a range of aggressive environments and are lightweight. The study of Cosmic Rays and the development of a high performance heat sinking structure are two areas that have been addressed within the More Electric Aircraft Initiative.
