Abstract
Resistance welding is a joining process using high welding currents. These currents cause high magnetic fields in the surrounding of welding equipment. Considering the present discussion about national adaptations of the EU directive on electromagnetic fields, in the paper questions of assessment of the exposure to magnetic fields will be discussed, particularly with regard to low frequency-fields.
