Abstract :
Oversampled filter banks have received much attention recently due to the advantages they offer over critically sampled filter banks. These include increased error-resilient coding, the existence of non-unique perfect reconstruction synthesis banks, and an improved noise shaping capability. This paper introduces an implementation method utilizing a lifting scheme that allows perfect reconstruction. The proposed lifting scheme factorizes the analysis and synthesis polyphase matrices into zero-delay and maximum-delay lifting matrices, which allows for perfect reconstruction even for integer-coefficient implementations.
