Abstract
In this paper we present new polyurethaneimide (PUI) copolymers SO2 as sensitive layers for a gas sensor based on a ZnO/Quartz ST-90 SAW transducer. These copolymers, which contain tertiary amine groups acting as Lewis bases, were characterized by Brillouin spectroscopy in order to determine the optimal sensor parameters. Gas sensors consisting of trilayer structures PUI/ZnO/Quartz were then developed successfully and tested under SO2 with the different PUI copolymers. The observed sensor responses are discussed in terms of structure-properties relationships.
