Abstract :
We present in this work the first sub 1-volt cascode LNA in a standard CMOS 0.18 process. Drawing less than 3.75 mA from a 0.85 volt DC supply, the proposed circuit delivers 15.1 dB of power gain targeting a center frequency of 5 GHz. The novel design has the important feature of 7 dB gain controllability and 4.1 dBm IIP3. Finally, some design guidelines for passive inductors with large quality factor are presented.
