Abstract :
The authors present a brief overview of the experiences of a typical industrial partner´s use of the Machine Learning Toolbox (MLT) as developed under the ESPRIT initiative. The use of the MLT within British Aerospace on applications based on design for assembly and data analysis as a pre-processor to using a neural network are described. These applications have led to a much greater appreciation of the potential to be gained from machine learning as one of a number of techniques to be considered as part of a problem solving process
