Abstract :
This paper explores the accuracy versus computation time for 3D full-wave electromagnetic models of PCB structures with non-orthogonal geometries. Modelling software which uses the discretisation of computational space as the root method for computing results has a trade off between accuracy and computation time when non-orthogonal structures are included in the model. This work aims to offer a better understanding of the impact of the discretisation of non-orthogonal PCB structures both in terms of computation time and accuracy.
