    As drilling technology improves, deep well drilling rig and offshore oil drilling at home and abroad are mostly equipped with top drive drilling devices. But drilling simulators at home and abroad are simulation against traditional rotary drilling system, which is out of proportion to the present situation. So we need to develop new drilling simulators based on top drive drilling system urgently to meet the training requirements of the drilling operators and the technical skill training requirements of engineers and technicians. This subject is mainly to complete the research of the mathematical models and to design the hardware and software system of drilling simulators. After trial, the application of this simulator in oilfield is good and it has a broad development prospects.
