Abstract :
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is very dangerous effect in electronics. This effect can cause a damage of many electronic components. This paper describes different protection systems and its efficiency testing against ESD treatment. IEC 61340 standards include allowed values of surface resistances of particular materials and allowed values of the body-system resistance. Results obtained from measuring of different ESD protection systems are presented. Presented results are suitable for the design of the correct ESD protection system in different real environment.
