  • Abstract
Intellectual capital (IC) has emerged as the key driver of value creation in the knowledge economy. Value creation lies at the heart of an organisation´s competitive strategy. Competitive advantage can be attributed not only to the ownership of difficult to replicate knowledge assets but also to the ability to integrate these knowledge assets and deploy them to create value. The relationship between IC and value creation is explored using a model developed based on recent literature. The purpose of the study is to explore the relationships among key factors of IC and then to determine how they contribute to organisational value.
