  • Abstract
Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) is a promising radio communication technology providing high-rate data network access over a wide area. The development and standardization of BWA technologies before lager scale commercial promotion require the evaluation of overall system performance so that system level simulations are essential. This paper develops a public system-level simulation platform for evaluating various wireless access systems, and addresses two core components of the platform. After calibration, the paper conducts performance evaluations for the BRadio system under different levels of mobility as a case study. The results reflect the system performance loss caused by the inaccuracy of the channel state feedback information. Because of the generality of the platform, many cases of study for other BWA systems, other algorithms or other scenarios can be easily conducted by just modifying a few parameters or modules.
