Abstract :
A smart temperature measurement system is described which takes advantage of known sensor performance characteristics to improve industrial temperature measurement. The sensor includes provisions for integrating information into the sensor via an internal memory device. Complementary software and instrumentation then utilizes this information during field operation. Improvements include performance benefits such as reduced measurement uncertainty, increased robustness, and failure prediction and detection
