Abstract
In this paper the time delay estimation problem and the classification of time delay estimators are presented. Classic nonadaptive time delay estimators, which can be found in the literature, are discussed. The author also presents the way in which these algorithms perform on an exemplary signal. In addition their properties are discussed and quality evaluated. On this basis a new simple delay estimator based on group delay of cross spectral density is proposed.
