Abstract :
In this paper, we present a coplanar waveguide fed antenna with wire bond interconnections for millimeter wave applications. The design is unique as it is integrated with CMOS transceiver using a standard wire bonding process. Measured results show that the fabricated antenna has an input matching bandwidth of 10% and gain of 7.8 dBi. To the authors´ knowledge, this is the first coplanar patch antenna presented that is integrated with 60-GHz CMOS chip using standard packaging techniques.
