Abstract :
In this paper, a new theory architecture of enterprise NPD (New Product Development) information environment evaluation is proposed based on NPD process analyzing. Firstly, the architecture produces an integrated information requirement model by analyzing the information transfer in NPD and reengineering the R&D process. Then the information flow of main enterprise systems is combed. To reduce the information confliction and input repetition, the relationships between systems information are defined to get the common part of them, which can make systems work together better and provide an integrated information environment. Finally, an evaluation model is given for enterprise information environment. To verify the feasibility of evaluation model, an investigation is conducted in some Chinese manufacturing enterprises to get data of R&D information sources, enterprise IT infrastructure and R&D efficiency in these enterprises. Evaluation results of R&D information environment in these enterprises can be used to analyze the present problems and get future IT building suggestions.
