Abstract :
The ROSE initiative has delivered significant workload savings, allowing redeployment of staff or cost savings, relating to the maintenance of Network Rail signalling assets through the application of Reliability Centred Maintenance. Key factors in determining this success include selecting the most appropriate information sources, running the initiative using in-house experts, providing Reliability Centred Maintenance training, and, above all, designing the process and outcomes to fit with the way in which maintenance is delivered in Network Rail. ROSE is now being applied to other infrastructure disciplines and being integrated more fully with Network Rail´s asset management approach.
