Abstract :
The increasing demand for quality products necessarily needs complete automation and close monitoring of manufacturing processes. Especially final finishing processes like grinding, which is prone to cause several quality related problems to ground surface like grinding burn; a colour change which seriously affects surface integrity of the ground material, has to be controlled effectively. This paper presents an on-line monitoring technique for identifying grinding burn through integrated sensor and an intelligent burn prediction method is suggested using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)
