Abstract :
The Research uses a virtual tour system for the Nanxi River ancient villege as a case to introduce the design, key technology and developing procedure. The virtual tour system which was created by MultiGen Creator and OSG. Meanwhile, this study introduced the practice in complex modeling, the hierarchical structure of scenes database, the model´s simplification and optimization, scene integration, realistic visualization, real-time rendering and architecture implementing. We also introduce the technology of collision detection in the virtual tour system. Using the method provided in this paper, a high efficiency application can be provided besides a better display quality. It can meet the requirement of real-time scene walkthrough.
