Abstract :
Channel estimation for single-input multiple-output (SIMO) time-invariant channels is considered using superimposed training. A periodic (non-random) training sequence is arithmetically added (superimposed) at a low power to the information sequence at the transmitter before modulation and transmission. Recently in Meng and Tugnait (2004), an iterative scheme for joint channel estimation and data detection was presented and illustrated via simulation examples, without any analytical performance analysis. In this paper we present a performance analysis of this iterative channel estimation method. An illustrative simulation example is also provided.
