Abstract :
Analyzed the ultimate reason of over-cladding and under-cladding through combining with the existing parallel scanning mode for laser metal deposition shaping (LMDS). A kind of scanning path generating algorithm is presented, firstly, adaptive scan space based on recognizing the characteristic edge is adopted to generate the scan filling line; then, group and optimize to connect filling lines based on judging the distance of between the end point of last vector and the start point of next vector; finally, in every continuous scan subarea, corresponding scan speed is adopted according to scan space, which ensures uniform and compact filling scan. Practical application shows that the scanning mode can enhance the fabrication quality.
