Abstract :
Exposure assessment to the electromagnetic field generated by wireless devices are based on experimental and computational procedures. In both cases the FDTD technique plays a key role in the determination of experimental conditions, computational methodologies and applicability limits. The paper performs an analysis of the usage of the technique that has been done in order to quantify the exposure conditions in SAR compliance tests or in numerical SAR evaluation. Examples of SAR computations inside the human body are presented and the FDTD capabilities used within the dosimetry area are analysed.
