Abstract :
When the Applications for Consent for the new Interconnector were made in Dec. 1990 they were accompanied by a single Environmental Statement covering the work both north and south of the Scotland-England border. The Environmental Planning stage of the project began in earnest at the end of 1988. The Consultation Document which identified a preferred overhead line route for the new interconnector became the front end of the Environmental Statement. General and particular objections are summarised and the outcome of the Public Local Inquiry at Moffat in 1991 is presented
