Abstract :
The SAW temperature sensor is an emerging technology, since last year it has been used to meet electric power industry requirements. We compared the advantages and disadvantages among different temperature measurement solutions including passive SAW sensor, infrared ray, fiber grating sensor and wireless active sensors in this paper. We have demonstrated and achieved our customers´ recognition that this passive wireless sensor technology has the potential to be a dominating solution for addressing the unique demand of temperature monitoring in future smart electric grid.
