  • Abstract
The extruder drive is considered as an example of a variable-speed constant torque drive application in the plastics industry. The pros and cons of AC and DC drives in this application are discussed. Relevant trends and control in general and a specific application example, i.e., a multilayer sheet line employing a winder and gauge control, are examined.<>
