  • Abstract
    As the growth of the number of 3D models, the need of retrieving them effectively and efficiently based on their content is increasing, which makes the research in content-based 3D model retrieval becomes a hot-spot in recent years. But the research procedure is so complex that the researchers have to waste much time and effort in doing tedious work such as collecting data to build a retrieval system. Though there are already some prototypes, standalone systems and Internet-based search engines implemented and publicized for the purpose of research, none of them provides a general solution for researchers. Moreover, most of them are not good enough to accomplish time-consuming task such as 3D feature extraction. To address the above issues, this paper presents the design and implementation of a high performance computing platform for content-based 3-D model retrieval.
