After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.

Container stowage problem with multi-restrictions is a complicated combinatorial optimization problem. It´s difficult to obtain an optimal solution. Considering many restrictions in practical applications, an improved genetic algorithm for the optimization of container stowage problem is presented in this paper. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and effective, and can be directly used in practical applications.
