Abstract
This paper presents an improved design of zero-current-switching PWM soft-commutation cell. The proposed converter features soft commutation of the active switches at zero current. It incorporates the most desirable properties of conventional PWM and soft-switching resonant techniques. Besides operating at constant frequency and with reduced commutation losses, the proposed converter has no additional current stresses. The principle of operation, theoretical analysis and simulation results of the proposed ZCS-PWM boost converter using Power MOSFETpsilas are presented to verify the performance of the proposed converter.
