Abstract :
This paper is to describe a unique training program that lowers the barrier between the new users and well-equipped device research facilities, while decreasing the mistakes caused by the new comers. This interfacing program not only helps students to transfer their classroom knowledge to hands-on equipment operating and device processing skills, but also provides a quick start mechanism for off campus users. The later is especially important if the university lab/center is to open to industry and national labs. The detailed training structure and contents will be presented. The impact of the training program on the operation and the processing capability of the MiRC will also be discussed.
