Abstract :
The paper deals with the concept of effective reluctivity to use in problems expressed in terms of phasor quantities. A ID problem involving magnetic saturation and eddy currents is solved by a time stepping method. A single time harmonic solution is also given for several definitions of the effective reluctivity. Comparisons are related to the steady state impedance
