Abstract :
Multi-rate packet reservation multiple access is a flexible TDMA protocol that supports multi-rate sources in an adaptive and distributed manner. Dual-rate PRMA is an instance of this protocol. We present protocol details and define performance metrics. We then study the effects of various operating conditions and design parameters on these metrics and develop guidelines for system operation
