Abstract :
A number of issues relating to the development of CAD tools for systolic array design are discussed. Many constructive techniques that permit the systematic design of such arrays from a class of algorithmic specifications exist. It is important that the users are able to view their specifications as programs in a standard programming language, so that they are able to execute and debug the input. It is also important to provide a simulator for the derived target arrays, and to present adequate data representations for displaying the results
