Abstract
Summary form only given. The physical properties of metal nanoparticles are of considerable interest in both fundamental and technological aspects. Being the effective tool for the study of surfaces, interfaces, and nanostructures, optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) was used for investigating small silver particles in island films. In the present work, we study hyper-Rayleigh scattering from the three-dimensional disordered array of silver nanocrystals embedded in a dielectric matrix.
