    The year 2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the high-power cavity magnetron. The Defence Electronics History Society felt that this occasion should not go by without a further and in-depth look at the origins of the cavity magnetron. Its belief was that this has not been sufficiently discussed in the past, with different nations claiming for their part in its discovery and development.
