  • Abstract
Our research was focused on a Product Life Management (PLM) system implementation in a digital manufacturing environment. We simulated in our laboratory the perspectives to put into operation a PLM system, to help the decision process in a CAD/CAM/CAE developing process. We analyzed different PLM systems and the measured parameters are: number of the objects manipulated; the price of server installation and 200 clients (workstations); the internal PDM capabilities for each system; the price of operation, the training and maintenance capabilities; the collaboration and Project Management capabilities; the CAD and software integration capabilities; and enterprise integration capabilities.
