Abstract
It is to describe the study of magnetic calculations for a high speed PMDC motor with extremely high power density and energized by unregulated DC power. Generally in motor design, magnetic circuits used to be calculated with rather simplified formula for practical purpose. However, as the field density and frequency being high in this application, the effect of losses were more serious and better accuracy on calculation was obtainable with modified routine of calculation including many other loss components in the system. Results are compared together with actual test at dynamo meter
