Abstract :
The paper compares alternative generating units for electric power plant development from sea waves. Both cases of permanent magnet linear generator and DC generator configurations have been examined. Appropriate coupled magnetic-electric-mechanical models for the analysis of the machine combined with the converter and the hydraulic system have been developed. The prediction of the system performance by the proposed methodology has been validated by measurements in the case of an experimental plant involving three 16 kW units
