Abstract :
A new time-domain transmission-line method based on Chebyshev expansions is applied to analyze transient characteristics of grounding electrode in this paper. It takes account of both the time-variable parameters caused by soil ionization and frequency-variable parameters caused by eddy current. The analyzed results are validated by experiment. The transient characteristics of grounding electrode are presented, which shows that the soil ionization effect and eddy effect are very important
