Abstract
The signal detection problem for random multipath transmission channel is considered. A likelihood ratio (LR) detector developed in the above context and under low signal to noise ratio (SNR) conditions is analyzed and interpreted. A Monte Carlo study is also carried out. The statistical behavior of the achieved processor is evaluated and compared to that of the classical detectors established under deterministic transmission channel assumptions. In particular, detectors such as the conventional log-likelihood ratio (LLR) detector obtained for the completely known multipath channel case, and the ad hoc detector developed for inaccurate multipath time delay modeling assumptions by I.M.G. Lourtie and G.C. Carter (1990) are considered
