Abstract :
The simulation of pulse propagation in microstrip transmission lines through a Taylor series expansion is described. The software developed to perform the simulation can model either a single stripline or a coplanar stripline, and provides accurate simulations with graphic output. Systems operating at millimeter-wave frequencies are subject to dispersion and attenuation, which need to be understood by the system designer. These characteristics are normally described by complicated equations which are not readily solved. The alternative often chosen is the numerical, curve-fitted CAD equation. These equations are used with a Taylor series expansion to give additional insight into the system
