Abstract :
The role of a system integrator is to make the right instrumentation, system software, and packaging choices to meet the sometimes seemingly mutually exclusive test requirements of the units under test (UUTs) and the cost, footprint, environmental, and transport requirements of the test system. Few systems are comprised of a single instrument control bus. LXI opens another avenue to meet those requirements. This paper will discuss LXI from a system integrator´s viewpoint. Common test scenarios will be investigated to determine the effect of LXI based instrument control on UUT test requirements and system integration.
