Abstract :
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) has been used as a nondestructive testing tool in many fields. Accurate determination of the GPR wave velocity is essential for calculating depth of examined buried object, and is the base of the synthetic aperture imaging. In this paper a new GPR wave velocity estimation method is proposed based on template matching. The proposed GPR wave velocity estimation method can determinate the velocity accurately. The experiment shows that we can calculate the depth, of the object accurately and can focus the radar image well with the estimated velocity.
