Abstract :
To solve the problem of the serious shortage of specimens in human anatomy teaching, virtual human anatomy teaching system was constructed by virtual reality technology. Based on the collection of traditional anatomical wall charts and CT, MRI and other kinds of medical images, three-dimensional model of human tissues and organs and various surgical instruments were established by VRML, 3D MAX, VTK and other 3D animation software, and then the model were cut by an image segmentation method based on edge detection and region growing, and finally the three-dimensional image were reconstructed through the surface rendering and volume rendering method, thus the process of the virtual anatomy were completed. The system has a good interactive, which might be an important complement to human anatomy course of medical students and enhance their understanding of human tissues and organs.
