Abstract
We proposed and demonstrated a simple 2-to-4 line photonic decoder at 40 Gbit/s based on the demodulation properties of two fiber delay interferometers (FDIs) and cross gain modulation (XGM) of four parallel semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). Four logic minterms with high extinction ratio (ER), clear and wide open eye diagrams were obtained simultaneously without continuous-wave (CW) probe lasers.
