Abstract
One of the most important aspects in the upcoming generations of mobile wireless telecommunications infrastructure is the virtual home environment (VHE) a ubiquitous approach in the delivery of services. In this paper, we study the performance benefits of mobile agents for coping with the technical challenges associated with the VHE. We investigate the performance of mobile agents in terms of response time for service provision in a 3G network against a conventional solution. We base our experiments in an integrated, open and extensible agent-based VHE architecture by taking into account a variety of service use scenarios. Finally, we present our results.
