Abstract
Wireless sensor network are consist of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes deployed in an area of interest for gathering information. Sensor nodes are harshly energy constrained therefore it is important to organize in a way to save the energy during processing, receiving and communication with base station. Sensor nodes are classified in different clusters. Efficient cluster head is selected in each cluster trough energy distance ratio. The traffic follows a converge-cast where nodes closer to the cluster head relay more traffic loads, resulting in energy depletion at an increased rate which leads to a decrease in the overall data delivery. Once an energy holes appears around the cluster head, no more data can be delivered to the cluster head. In this paper, we propose a strategy for the cluster head selection. Cluster heads are selected on the basis of two parameters energy and distance from the base station. In our proposed strategy all nodes are homogenous and self organized. Simulation result shows that the proposed strategy optimized data delivery and energy balancing.
